القمر :
وهو القمر الطبيعي الوحيد التابع للأرض ، كما أنه خامس أكبر قمر طبيعي في المجموعة الشمسية .
وهو الجرم السماوي الوحيد الذي الذي هبط عليه البشر بأقدامهم ، وقد تم جلب 380 كغ من الصخور القمرية ، الأمر الذي ساعد في دراسة البنية الجيولوجية والداخلية للقمر ، حيث قدر عمر القمر ب 4.5 مليار سنة .
حجم قطر القمر يساوي ربع حجم قطر الأرض ، وكتلته تساوي 1/81 من كتلة الأرض ، المسافة بينه وبين الأرض في نقطة الأوج 406464 كم وفي نقطة الحضيض 356565 كم ، سرعة دورانه حول الأرض تساوي 4627 م/ثا .
